CALL TO ORDER

The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:34 p.m. in the Council Chamber, 437 Old Mammoth Road, Suite Z, Mammoth Lakes.

Approve the minutes of the regular meeting of September 7, 2021.

PRESENTATIONS

4.1

2021 Annual Program Performance, Whitmore Pool and Customer Satisfaction Survey Analysis

Recreation Manager Kat Kelly, Recreation Supervisor Doug Gebhart, and Program and Facilities Coordinator Mark Bell outlined the information in the 2021 Parks and Recreation Summer Presentation.  There was discussion among members of the Commission and staff.

5.1

Adopt the resolution making findings to allow the Recreation Commission to meet virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic declared emergency.

This item was taken out of order.

Parks and Recreation Director Stuart Brown outlined the information in the staff report.

Proposition 68 Regional Park Program Survey Analysis and Project Recommendations

Parks and Recreation Director Stuart Brown outlined the information in the staff report.

Mammoth Lakes Recreation (MLR) Program Director Kim Anaclerio outlined the information in the Proposition 68 Regional Park Program Whitmore Recreation Area Survey Results. Ms. Anaclerio announced that the Grand Prize Winner for filling out the survey was Dion Agee.

There was discussion among members of the Commission, staff, and Ms. Anaclerio.

Parks and Recreation Department Monthly Report

Parks and Recreation Director Stuart Brown, Recreation Supervisor Doug Gebhart, and Recreation Manager Kat Kelly outlined the information in the staff report. Mr. Brown announced that the T-Mobile Grant Award presentation would take place tomorrow at the Town Council meeting.  There was discussion among members of the Commission and staff.

COMMISSIONER REPORTS

Commissioner Constable thanked everyone for their work on the T-Mobile grant.

Chair Truax reported that she attended closing day at the Whitmore Pool and said that she had attended the National Recreation and Parks  Association (NRPA) National Conference in Nashville last month. Ms. Truax said that she had the opportunity to speak with multiple vendors that had done work for our Parks and Recreation Department in the past and spoke about some of the sessions she attended at the conference.

REQUEST FOR AGENDA ITEMS

There was discussion among members of the Commission and staff.

The November 2nd meeting will include a CRC update, the Ice Rink Operating Plan for 2021/22, the Monthly Parks and Recreation Department update, and a Proposition 68 update. Staff will present the 2022 Work Program at the December 7th meeting and will present the Strategic Work Plan at the January meeting.
